About the role
As a Training Coordinator, you will provide expertise in statutory, high-risk, and construction training while managing the training system and ensuring compliance with the company and client standards. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will oversee the Training Management System, offer specialist advice, and promote a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver site training programs, including statutory training, critical risk management, health & safety, and project inductions.
- Support external training programs such as leadership coaching, cultural awareness, mental health, and environmental training.
- Ensure training aligns with regulatory, company, and client requirements.
- Innovate training development and delivery while applying industry best practices.
- Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to maintain training consistency.
- Utilize business software to manage competencies and review training needs.
- Develop an assurance program for training and competency.
- Analyze training data to inform leadership on trends and compliance.
- Assist with contractor training alignment and safety initiatives.
Experience/Requirements
- Certified Trainer and Assessor (TAE40116 or TAE40110 with required ASQA units) or equivalent.
- Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent).
- Extensive mining industry experience, including construction projects and operations.
- Skilled in operating mobile plant/equipment and verifying high-risk licenses (VoC).
- Proficient in managing training systems.
- Experience in developing Training Matrices and conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to address skill gaps.
- Strong knowledge of WHS Schedule 26 Statutory Appointment and Competency legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership ability with strong influence over contractor behaviors.
- Confident in creating and delivering engaging presentations.
