About the role 

  • Oversee contractors carrying out construction works which includes wharfs and landside infrastructure
  • Reporting into the Senior Project Manager (Marine/Civil)
  • Our client is one of the world's largest bulk export port authority 
  • 2/1 roster from Perth
 
Responsibilities
Safety & People
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace for mental and physical well-being.
  • Drive continuous improvements in physical and psychological safety.
Integrated Management Systems
  • Develop and oversee compliance with legal, statutory, and ISO standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality, Environment, Safety, and Information Security processes.
Project Management
  • Monitor site activities to ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Identify project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Support Project Engineers and management with feedback and reporting.
  • Attend progress and contractor meetings; maintain a daily site diary.
Contractor Management
  • Review and provide feedback on contractor plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Verify compliance with approved plans through regular checks.
  • Ensure contractors meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Oversee contractor access, interfaces, and QA/QC performance.
Leadership
  • Promote a strong safety culture and drive innovation.
Other Duties
  • Perform additional tasks as directed, with flexibility for after-hours work when needed.
 
Experience/Requirements
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in Marine/Civil construction.
  • Background in Construction Management, Trade, or related qualifications (preferred).
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record in delivering heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Strong leadership with a focus on site safety culture.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging contractors and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of resource industry infrastructure in Northwest WA (advantageous).
